Purpose
This policy sets out how members and recognized institutions may use the ICBEP name and recognition badge, so that use is accurate, consistent, and non-misleading.
Who may use the badge
Only current members or recognized institutions may display the corresponding ICBEP badge, and only for the membership or recognition year in which it is valid.
Permitted use
- Display on the institution's website and official materials, alongside accurate status wording
- Reference to the correct recognition category and validity period
- Linking the badge to the institution's ICBEP verification record where possible
Prohibited use
- Implying government approval, statutory accreditation, or licensing
- Claiming guaranteed acceptance, universal validity, or lifetime recognition
- Altering, distorting, or recoloring the badge
- Continuing to display the badge after membership or recognition has lapsed
Accurate wording
Badge display should be accompanied by accurate language such as ‘ICBEP Recognized’ or ‘ICBEP Member’, reflecting the institution's actual status. Misleading phrases must not be used.
Withdrawal of permission
ICBEP may withdraw permission to use its name or badge where this policy is breached, and may require removal of the badge.
ICBEP is an independent international membership and quality recognition council. Recognition, membership, listing, or accreditation-style review by ICBEP does not replace government approval, university authorization, statutory accreditation, or professional licensing requirements in any country. Institutions are responsible for complying with applicable local laws and regulations.
