Speakers
Professor
Yixun Shi
received his Ph.D. in mathematics in 1992 from the University of
Iowa, USA. He also received his MS in mathematics from the Shanghai
Normal University, China, and BS in mathematics from the Anhui
Normal University, China. His teaching interests include
mathematical modeling and applications, statistical methods and
software, and mathematics education. His research interests include
mathematical modeling and applications in business, management,
education, humanity and social sciences, strategies and methods in
mathematics education, numerical optimization and systems of
equations, computational statistics, and computer algorithms. He has
been a faculty member since 1992 at the Department of Mathematics,
Computer Science and Statistics, the Bloomsburg University of
Pennsylvania, USA, serving as an assistant professor from 1992 to
1996, an associate professor from 1996 to 2000, and a full professor
since 2000. Dr. Shi has publications in leading research journals

He is the author of a text book Mathematics for Health Sciences
and a Technology Guide for statistical software. Currently,
he is the editor-in-chief of two mathematics research journals and
one education research journal.
Song-Kyoo (Amang) Kim,
Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Asian Institute
of Management. He had been a technical manager and
TRIZ specialist of mobile communication division at
Samsung Electronics. He is involved in IT industries
more than 10 years. Dr Kim has received his master
degree of computer engineering on 1999 and Ph.D. of
operations research on 2002 from Florida Institute
of Technology. He is the author of more than 20
operations research papers focused on stochastic
modeling, systematic innovations and patents. He had
been the project leader of several 6 Sigma and TRIZ
projects mainly focused on the mobile industry.
